SUMMARY:Field Trip: Treasure Island Reimagined
DESCRIPTION:Details: \n\n\n\nThe granddaddy of all pirate stories comes to life in a whole new format as a live-action graphic novel. In this adaptation of Robert Louis Stevenson’s Treasure Island\, three performers provide all the character voices and sound effects live as more than 1\,200 comic-book panels blast one by one on a huge screen to tell an on-the-edge-of-your-seat tale of danger and adventure for the kid in everyone. The story follows Jane Hawkins\, a twelve-year-old in 1754 Britain\, who works at a sleepy seaside inn. When a sinister vagabond arrives with a mysterious trunk\, Jane’s humdrum life swerves towards adventure. \n\n\n\nCurriculum Connections: Adapting a Book\, 18th Century British Society\, Multi-Media Spectacle\, Character Development\, Economics and Civics\, Classic Literature\, Visual Art and Technology\, Foley Sound Effects \n\n\n\nThis production is recommended for students in grades 5-12\, although other ages are welcome. \n\n\n\nA student must be accompanied by an adult in order to attend this production.  Families are asked to arrive by 10:00am to check in\, the show will start PROMPTLY at 10:30am. Our entire group must be present before we can be seated. It is important that families try to be punctual for the sake of the group. The show has a running time of 60 minutes. No food or drink is allowed in the theater for this show\, this includes gum. \n\n\n\nLocation: \n\n\n\nTPAC’s James K. Polk Theater \n\n\n\nTicket Information: \n\n\n\nAll attendees\, regardless of age must have a ticket to attend.  Tickets available until 5 pm on September 15\, 2026\, unless they sell out sooner. This trip requires a minimum in order to proceed. \n\n\n\nHealth & Safety Policy Regulations: \n\n\n\nIf you or a family member has been sick 2 days prior to the field trip or is currently sick\, please do not attend this field trip.  Please help us keep the entire group healthy by adhering to these rules. \n\n\n\nRules & Regulations: \n\n\n\nEach individual attending this trip/event must have a ticket purchased directly from Nashville Homeschool Calendar by the ticket purchase deadline. If tickets are not secured through Nashville Homeschool Calendar by such deadline\, individuals will not be permitted to participate in the trip/event. Walk-ins or individuals who purchase tickets outside of Nashville Homeschool Calendar (contacting the venue directly) will not be accepted as part of the group. \n\n\n\nNo refunds after August 20\, 2026. It is your responsibility to find someone to take your place if you can no longer come or you will forfeit your tickets. Admin fees are non-refundable. \n\n\n\nBookings open immediately to all members.
