SUMMARY:Special Event: John Proctor Is the Villain
DESCRIPTION:Details: \n\n\n\nWhat if the villain is not who we thought? In this biting dramatic comedy\, a high school English class reexamines The Crucible and sparks a reckoning. As teenage girls debate John Proctor’s morality\, their conversations expose uncomfortable truths about consent\, credibility\, and the stories society chooses to protect. From Kimberly Belflower comes a smart\, timely\, and deeply human play that asks\, who benefits when we call someone a hero? \n\n\n\nThis event will be taking place in the Johnson Theater at TPAC.  Our group has been granted a group discounted rate of $36 per ticket. This group pricing discount will save you money versus purchasing individually through the box office. This production is scheduled to begin at 2 pm. \n\n\n\nTickets must be picked up from Will Call/Box Office with a photo I.D. ideally no later than 30 minutes before the show starts. This is a special event which means we do not meet as a group. However\, our group seats will be located in close proximity to one another. Each family that purchases tickets will indeed have seats next to each other. SUMMARY:Special Event: Urban Bush Women
DESCRIPTION:Details: \n\n\n\nTHIS IS RISK\, looks forward and back in celebrating four decades of operating at the vanguard of movement and social activism. THIS IS RISK takes the audience through intentional storytelling to the next space of collective brilliance. This energetically charged evening includes iconic works by Founder Jawole Willa Jo Zollar\, featuring live music\, including the return of Shelter\, a full performance of Batty Moves\, last performed in 2002\, and a new commission\, Contemplations on Legacy\, by long-time UBW collaborator and choreographer Vincent E. Thomas. \n\n\n\nURBAN BUSH WOMEN (UBW) is a groundbreaking Black women-led theatrical dance company and an agent for social change. Founded in 1984 by visionary choreographer Jawole Willa Jo Zollar\, UBW is an engine and amplifier for the stories of Black Women+. UBW combines radical performance\, deep engagement\, and ancestral knowledge from the African diaspora into a force that is urgent\, forward-looking\, and essential. UBW has defied expectations for 40 years. The very bodies of its founding members – Black women of various shapes and sizes – changed the landscape of who could be seen on stage as a dancer. The work placed the concerns of such women center stage. UBW embraces radical storytelling to activate societal transformation. Whether creating genre-defying work for the stage\, guiding the development of Black Women+ choreographers and producers\, organizing for justice through artmaking\, UBW is an innovator\, operating at the vanguard. \n\n\n\nThis performance will be taking place in the Polk Theater at TPAC.  Our group has been granted a group discounted rate for this performance. All seats are located in the orchestra level.  There are three ticket options to choose from (based on location within the venue) Ticket A is $45 per ticket\, Ticket B is $34 per ticket\, and Ticket C is $23 per ticket. DESCRIPTION:Details: \n\n\n\nInspired by the beloved book\, The Velveteen Rabbit by Margery Williams\, this new magical musical Velveteen\, from Playhouse Square\, introduces us to Lulu\, her gran\, her beloved toys\, and a nest of legendary rabbits. Lulu confronts big change\, having just moved in with her Gran. To make things a little more comfortable\, Gran gives her a velveteen rabbit – just like the one her mom had. Velveteen and Lulu form a special bond\, making some of the other toys jealous and leaving Velveteen wishing he could live outside with the “real” rabbits he meets through the window. As Lulu grows up\, Velveteen ultimately finds a sense of belonging\, discovering the power of love and what it means to be Real. The production brings magic and transformation to life onstage with a visionary set and playful costumes. SUMMARY:Field Trip: Treasure Island Reimagined
DESCRIPTION:Details: \n\n\n\nThe granddaddy of all pirate stories comes to life in a whole new format as a live-action graphic novel. In this adaptation of Robert Louis Stevenson’s Treasure Island\, three performers provide all the character voices and sound effects live as more than 1\,200 comic-book panels blast one by one on a huge screen to tell an on-the-edge-of-your-seat tale of danger and adventure for the kid in everyone. The story follows Jane Hawkins\, a twelve-year-old in 1754 Britain\, who works at a sleepy seaside inn.
