Disclosure
This is my personal website. I spend a large chunk of my time organizing field trips or finding pre-existing events for homeschoolers in the greater Nashville area to attend. This website is how I publicize these events. I believe in the importance of community and that this can be a great tool to connect homeschoolers to each other.
I enjoy organizing trips for Nashville Homeschool Calendar but it does take a lot of time contacting potential field trip sites, publicising events, collecting payments, communicating with attendees, and staying in touch with field trip venues. It also costs me money to offer these services. It costs me to maintain the website, as does all the gas running around town, office supplies, ink etc. Not to mention the cost of taking my kids on all these field trips! To help cover some of these costs, I do charge an Admin fee on most events. Most of this fee, Paypal will take to cover their services but the rest goes to help offset the costs I incur.
I also get paid for some of the advertising slots on the website. Some of the advertising slots are affiliate links and I may get paid if you purchase or click on them. I am a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program and have used that program to link to any books or curriculum I may recommend. I do have the following advertising parameters in place: all advertisers must either be businesses that offer services or products that support a homeschool family or are owned by a homeschool family.
I try to check out all advertisers to ensure that they are legitimate businesses but I can not personally endorse them all. Please do your own due diligence before engaging their services or buying their products.
Privacy Policy
Anonymous visitor information is recorded and used to track the growth of Nashville Homeschool Calendar and to see how people are finding the website.
To create an account you give your name, email address, and phone number. Please know that I will never sell that information and will only share it if needed in order to organize a field trip. For example, sometimes I need to provide a list of attendees to a field trip venue.
I use your personal information to contact you in regards to field trips you have signed up for.
I will also send out an email once a month with upcoming field trips as well as occasional emails for special or time sensitive events. You can opt out of these emails at any time.
Some of the advertisers may use cookies to store information about your preference, record user-specific information on which pages you access or visit, and to customize Web page content based on your browser type or other information that you send via their browser. (That’s why you’ll sometimes see an Amazon ad for something you were just searching for yesterday. Bizarre, right?!)
I have no access to, or control over, these cookies that are used by advertisers. You should consult the respective privacy policies of these advertiser’s websites for more detailed information on their practices as well as for instructions about how to opt-out of certain practices. Nashville Homeschool Calendar’s privacy policy does not apply to, and cannot control the activities of, such other advertisers or web sites. If you wish to disable cookies, you can learn how to do that by visiting the websites of Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer, or that of a different browser.
I reserve the right to change this privacy policy but will give 14 days notice via email if I do so.
